Chez Manon is a fantastic base for exploring Provence
Chez Manon is in the Luberon, right in the heart of Provence. You can explore the hill villages, restaurants, local markets and vineyards on your doorstep – or head a little further to see the sights of Avignon, Aix and Marseille. There’s countryside, coastline, architectural and gastronomic delights to discover.
Some local highlights include the Saturday morning market in Apt – one of the largest and oldest markets in the area. There are antiques, art, and “brocante” shops at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, rose gardens at Valsaintes and if you come at the right time of the year there are fields of poppies, sunflowers and the famous Provence lavender. If you want an active day out, then the ochre cliffs of Rustrel are a great place to head for a walk and a picnic, you could take a cycle along the Véloroute du Calavon, walk along the gorge and river bed at Toulourenc or rent a kayak at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.
